Slate
is a compact fine Matamorphic stone that is formed
from clay, sadimantry rock shell and some time squards.
This possess slaty cleavageand hence can be split
into slabes and thin plates. It is compose primarily
of Silica and Alumina. Slates find application in
interiors and exteriors. It is extremly beautiful
and cost effective then most other wall and floor
coverings. It renderes a very graceful natural finish
to any building. The usual colors of slates are :
Black, Dark Gray, White, Copper, Silver Shine, Terra
red etc. As these are natural stones variations of
color and tones exists.
The harder variety of slates are used for flooring.
Slates mines are found in Northern (Rajasthan &
Haryana) and Southern (Andhra Pradesh & Tamil
Nadu) part of India.
